See Naples and …take a look round this beautiful city

May 23rd, 2010

Despite her problems, of which we are all well aware, Naples has so much to offer in terms of art, architecture, breathtaking scenery and top-notch cuisine.
Today we’re going to let 25 beautiful photographs do the talking: these images of people, places and customs will give you a taste of the culture, passion and traditions that, woven together into an elaborate whole, have been charming and captivating visitors to Naples since time immemorial.

As you peruse these photographs, you will notice that the image we all have in our heads when we think of the Parthenopean city, is conspicuous by its absence: there are no images of the evocative view of Naples from on high, sweeping from Vesuvius out over the entire bay. It’s not down to chance that this picture is missing and, likewise, there are no shots of pizzas, mandolins or … garbage. This has nothing to do with the fact that there are no beautiful pictures available of these subjects. Rather, we want to provide a somewhat unusual view of Naples, a view that will arouse your curiosity and may well surprise you … perhaps to the extent that you will want to visit this beautiful city!

…and if this article achieves what it set out to do, then the merit must go to the artists who took these photographs, to whom we extend our heartfelt THANKS for granting us their permission to use their material!
